The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the Accounting Organization.  Responsibilities include, ensuring the successful delivery of Payroll processes, closing the books monthly including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and analysis, accruals, variance explanations and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. Other responsibilities include legal entity accounting, supporting the annual audit and quarterly reviews and various ad-hoc projects. This position reports directly to the Controller Cloudways, a subsidiary of Digital Ocean.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Execute payroll processes and payments accurately and in a timely manner, ensure proper updates are made in relevant local payroll systems and lead the income tax related matters including correct tax application and timely submission of tax deducted to Tax authorities. 
  • Manage and ensure integrity of master data in the payroll system on timely and accurate basis.
  • Coordinate with external payroll service provider, manage payroll systems and the accurate accounting process related to payroll. 
  • Manage and ensure timely processing of employee expense reimbursement and manage, track, and follow up on employee queries.
  • Timely completion of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, account analysis and analytics.
  • Assist with documentation requests for completion of quarterly reviews and annual audit. 
  • Help drive improvements to internal processes to achieve a faster close.
  • Support ad hoc projects as deemed necessary given business initiatives and accounting team needs.

What We’ll Expect from You:

  • Approximately 5+ years or more of relevant experience in a similar capacity – prior public accounting / taxation knowledge with (Big 4) experience would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of labor and local laws and prevailing HR practices and taxation principles. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Experience working with High Growth or Technology companies preferred.

Role Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, ICMA, CA(Finalist) is preferred.
  • Experienced user of software such as Gsuite (docs, sheets, and slides), PowerPoint, G-Suite, NetSuite and Coupa. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with other teams on solutions and project management activities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and clearly communicate status.
