With a focus on delivering exceptional services and exceeding client expectations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Lead/Manager to join our dynamic team.
As an Accounting Lead/Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and managing the accounting team within our IT service company. You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including revenue, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger for all territories and legal entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial closing, including the preparation of standalone financial statements, consolidation, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Lead the internal and external audits by coordinating and collaborating with external auditors, tax advisors and our internal compliance function.
- Ensure zero non-compliance for all statutory filing relating to Tax Authorities (Within and outside Pakistan), SECP, US States, Middle East specific corporate matters.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Review the existing chart of Accounts (COAs), ledger, opening balances to clean the books by streamlining the COAs and balances. This exercise should get us ready to move to the new accounting system.
- Lead implementation of the accounting system to ensure smooth and accurate transition of COAs and Balances to the new system with proper segregation of duties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting of project-related activities.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Liaise with and support FP&A team to achieve their objectives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant trained with either of the big 6 audit firms.
- Proven experience of at least 3-4 years in an accounting leadership role, preferably within the IT service industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations.
- Exposure to US and ME tax regulations would be highly desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Exposure to ERP implementation would be a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and ethics, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
