Cloud Architect


Job Description

More specifically, the job entails: 

  • Define the cloud architecture for HBL along with cloud principles and standards.
  • Act as a catalyst and change agent for the adoption of Cloud Computing.
  • Must have a great depth of expertise using Microsoft, AWS, RedHat OpenShift whilst adhering to Architecture principles and Technology standards. 

Description

  • Developing a cloud strategy and coordinating the adaptation process across HBL.
  • Leading cultural change for cloud adoption.
  • Developing & coordinating cloud Architecture
  • Creating solution architecture designs for cloud platforms while adhering to prescribed patterns
  • Contributing technical expertise to architecture governance processes and forums.
  • Evaluate cloud apps, hardware, and software regularly.
  • Collaborate closely with information security to monitor HBL cloud privacy.
  • Provide advice on infrastructure moving techniques, such as bulk application transfers to the cloud.
  • Identify architecture-related Cloud risks, implement appropriate mitigation plans, and manage until resolution.
  • Participates in peer reviews to ensure designs are robust, reliable, and high performing, contributing to broader architectural governance initiatives.
     

Skills required

  • Communication Skills: Experienced communicators who understand how to communicate their ideas to all project participants. This covers both verbal and textual communication.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud computing technology and contemporary computing trends.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication abilities to appropriately convey complex cloud reports to management and other IT development partners.
  • Relevant Cloud Architect training and/or certifications
  • Thorough understanding and experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or RedHat OpenShift for laaS and PaaS. Included are the following abilities/services:
  • Networking (VLANs, WANs, VPNs,) Compute (including availability sets), Storage Accounts (Managed Disk, Blob, etc.) Azure Active Directory, SQL Server as a Service / SQL Managed Instance, Site Recovery, Policies, and a load balancer are all available.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Terraform, GitHub, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Repo’s, Git, and others.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, including ARM (JSON) templates and PowerShell.
  • Experience building and implementing cloud-native architectures based on Microservices.
  • Understands the important security, resilience, and high-availability aspects while building new patterns for mission-critical application workloads.
  • Prior experience with large-scale migrations from on-premises to public or private cloud. Infrastructure, application, security, and data are all included.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Engineering

Minimum experience: 

  • 10+ years of work experience In an Architecture / Engineering related position with a focus on cloud computing in Private (OpenShift) or Public (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP)
