As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team that is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and delivering full-stack solutions from the user experience to the infrastructure.
Job Overview:
- Provide technical roadmap and strategy for the team, design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short- and long-term technology investments.
- Partner closely with Product Management, User Experience, and other Cloudways Engineering teams to create, drive, and deliver an innovative, compelling, and user-friendly experience to our customers.
- Build and lead an engineering team to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions in a commercial, mission-critical environment.
- Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring, succession planning, and retention strategies for key talent in a fast growth, economic environment.
- Define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for team members required for the projects or initiatives
- Analyze, plan, and develop requirements in coordination with various stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of technical projects
- Taking complete ownership of all communication; including status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team
- Setting and managing client expectations early; being aware of potential issues that require proactive communication
- Encouraging a positive working environment across disciplines and teams, resulting in stronger alignment and project coordination
- Implementing Agile-based methodologies to ensure quality delivery of projects within the allocated timeline
- Managing multiple tasks at a time and using innovative management techniques
- Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
- Conduct post-project reviews and make recommendations for process improvements
- Remove roadblocks and assist team members in day-to-day technical decision-making and execution.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and technical leadership.
- Experience creating roadmaps for execution, including timelines and projected engineering resources.
- Advanced degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in ideation and innovating technology at scale, while motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of purpose.
- Experience and market knowledge, up-to-date on the industry with historical context, and the desire to push the industry forward.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex interdependencies
- An excellent entrepreneurial and strategic approach, with the ability to work at the intersection of technology and business.
- Experience delivering solutions that fully leverage public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is highly desirable.
